Description: | A silver 1/4 Ecu of Louis XV 1715-74. Interestingly yhis example has what appears to be the letter 'H' stamped into the centre of the obverse. The reason for this is unknown although other foriegn coinage, especially from Spain of this period was stamped so that it could be used in Britain with a bust, a parallel with the letter H' stamped on it cannot be found.
