Description: | Edmund Young Rodda is seen here keeping a watchful eye on his two young assistants at his premises at 15 Park Corner, Penzance. The work undertaken here seems to be predominantly the shoeing of horses. Today the role of the blacksmith is virtually the same as that of the farrier: horse shoeing. Up until the 20th century a blacksmith would also make and repair all manner of metal tools and utensils. | Subjects: | Hipped Roof Animals Weatherboarding People (Active) Vent Crafts Blacksmiths Workshop Industry | Source: | English Heritage - Viewfinder | Creator: | Newton, S W A | Identifier: | http://viewfinder.english-heritage.org.u... | Language: | en | Go to resource |
