Description: | Thomas J. Barratt is often referred to as the Father of Advertising for his work for the A. & F. Pears Ltd., the soap manufacturers. His secondary interest was in local antiquaries and particularly those relating to his London neighbourhood, Hampstead where he lived at Bellmoor. He published a three volume collection of his local history in 1912.
