Description: | This document is the order of service for the consecration of the new JFS Secondary School, in Camden. It is printed in English and Hebrew, and signed by all the dignitaries who were present, including the Chief Rabbi, Dr Israel Brodie, who conducted the service. The new school was initially classified as a secondary modern, but later became the first school in London to use the word 'comprehensive' in its title. Dr Edward Conway, the new headmaster, had come to JFS from Norwood Jewish Orphanage, where he was Principal from 1951-8. | License: | http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/ | Publisher: | Jewish Museum, London | Rights holder: | Copyright: JFS School | Subjects: | Public services Communities | Temporal: | 1959-02-22 | Source: | Jewish Museum | Identifier: | http://www.20thcenturylondon.org.uk/rser... | Go to resource |
