Description: | The report is very concerned with the impact the Titanic disaster had upon Southampton as hundreds of her crew lived in and around the town. The newspaper reports upon the tragic scenes in Southampton docks as local residents wait outside for news of their loved ones. The article also reports back on 'amazing scenes in New York' as hundreds of people stormed the White Star offices for news. Similar scenes could be seen at the London White Star offices too. Belfast, where Titanic was built was also a scene of great sorrow according to the newspaper. It was in Belfast that R.M.S Titanic was built. Many of Titanic's crew and passengers also came from Ireland. The article does however report upon more positive matters concerning the disaster like the Mayor's Relief Fund which was set up in the wake of the disaster to aid the orphans and widows who were left behind.
