Description: | Production at Huntley & Palmers was severely affected during both World Wars and was slow to recover afterwards. This single-sided sheet was produced two years after the end of the First World War and witnesses to the slow recovery of the factory after the cessation of hostilities. As always, Huntley & Palmers is keen to emphasize the high of their product. The end of production was put down to the lack of 'high class materials from which alone their Cakes have always been made'. The renewed production of 'a small number of their most famous Cakes', the reader is assured, will revive this earlier tradition. 'Only the best of everything is used' so that Huntley & Palmers cakes 'are unrivalled for purity, richness and delicacy of flavour and they maintain their quality even in the most trying climates for a great length of time'.
