Title: River Wallington Floods, Fareham [Go to resource]
Description: The River Wallington retained its old course up to 1967 and if tides were high, regularly flooded the lower gardens in High Street and the Shore Road and cottages in Wallington. This still occurs now occasionally. The river flooded badly in 1861 and was aggravated by high tides, damage being done at Sharland's property and the surrounding houses. References: 1.
