Description: | The market hall was built in 1842 in West Street by subscription through £5 shares. It was used as a Sunday school and a church meeting room. The first Price's school was situated on the south side of West Street between Portland Street and Quay Street. The schoolmaster at the time was Mr Daniel Wrapson, who was also hall keeper. Price's School was later demolished and replaced by a fire station.
The school later moved to Park Lane.
