Description: | On the opposite side of the square to the Bugle Hotel stood Lankester & Crook Ltd, County Supply Stores which sold just about everything from firewood to wines and spirits and home made sausages to general groceries and hardware. There was always a cane chair for the customer to rest on in the shop. At one time, the store had two vans delivering round the area, the drivers being Charlie Frampton and Fred Rowe. Sadly, Lankester & Crooks ceased trading in the 1960's. Outside the shop stands a delivery cart.
