Description: | The Georgian village of Portchester still survives, largely unspoiled, between the castle and the sprawl of the development to the north. Castle Street, south of White Hart Lane, curves and widens, with a variety of mainly 18th century houses of different sizes and form, some set back, some set on the street and provide an attractive approach to the castle.
