Title: Wallington, Fareham, 1908 [Go to resource]
Description: Wallington was the first fording place on the River Wallington which rises in the South Downs and meanders down to Fareham Creek. The finding of flint implements in the area shows evidence that a settlement possibly existed on the river banks around the lowest crossing point from prehistoric times. Up until recent times, the people of Wallington lived on Wallington Shore Road and North Wallington. Reference: 1. Emery, John. 1985. Fareham in old Picture postcards, p. 40.
