Title: Chocolate digestive biscuits, 1980s [Go to resource]
Description: These plastic biscuit packets show the brand identity that was developed in the early 1980s by Nabisco, the North American based multinational, that acquired Associated Biscuits Ltd in 1982. The new logo featured rural scenes with the 'Huntley and Palmer' around the edges. It is noticeable that the new branding dropped the 's' from Palmers. It is not known if this was a designers mistake or a concious decision by the marketing department. The new design seemed to be presenting Huntley & Palmers as a unadventurous and traditional brand of standard favourites such as chocolate digestives.
