Description: After the Second World War Huntley & Palmers faced increasing competition from the other biscuit manufacturers. From the late 1950s onwards they began to launch large-scale advertising campaigns and in 1960 the Cornish Wafer was the focus of such a campaign. The success of the campaign is reflected in the fact that the Cornish Wafer was Huntley & Palmers best selling biscuit from 1954 to 1967 when it was finally overtaken by the Butter Osborne.
