Description: | 25th October 1999. View of corner of the Light complex which is under construction and development at the time of the photograph. taken from the Headrow on junction with Albion Street. The Light is a ?100 million development by halifax and St James securities (clerical amd medical investment group) on the Headrow. The complex consists of Life cafe, Restaurant, late night venue, fashion store 'Probito' and offices. The 1960s annexe attached to the grade 2 listed building was demolished and replaced by a 13 screen 2900 seat multiplex Cinema (Ster Century Cinemas) with underground parking. The original LPBS building was built in 1932 by architect Sir Reginald Blomfield and this is linked to the new section by a glass roofed street which will house a restaurant bar and fitness club.
