Description: | 11th April 1930.
To the left Cookridge Street.
New Headquarters for the Leeds Permanent Building Society, which opened on 15th May 1930, built of Portland Stone.
This material was chosen because it was thought to be more resistant to soot blackening which had badly affected Yorkshire Stone buildings like Leeds Town Hall.
To the right, further building work is being carried out. | License: | http://www.leodis.net/article.aspx?id=12 | Rights holder: | Leeds Central Library | Subjects: | Headrow Permanent House | Source: | Leodis - A photographic archive of Leeds | Identifier: | http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?id=20... | Go to resource |
