The Old Toll Bar Public House was at 19 Meanwood Road, Walter Kelly was the landlord, Melbourne Brewery beer sold. Sheepscar, Woodhouse Carr and Meanwoodside Turnpike Trust had a toll bar for the road, opened in 1829/30, tolls were charged until 1867. Next 21 is a greengrocers shop, then 21a/23 a drapers business, Mrs Amelia Myerthall. Next 25 is a grocer's, L M Pickin.
