Description: | June 1960. A scene at Morley C. B. & A. Cricket Club, who at this time were playing in the Central Yorkshire League (Heavy Woollen District) of the Yorkshire Council. A sprinkling of spectators is shown on the seats in the background but the large scoreboard, built to commemorate the work of Kenyon Newton who over the years recorded a quarter of a million runs for Morley, is not as effective as it could be. In the foreground are two well-known personalities of the sports press in Morley: on the left, George A. Liley, who reported for the Morley Observer after a distinguished career in many local amateur sports, and on the right, Eddie Butterworth of Morley Advertiser.
