Description: | Nelson was given a splendid state funeral and burial in 1806. From 5 to 7 January, his body lay in state in the Painted Hall of the Royal Hospital of Greenwich. His body was then placed in Charles II's state barge and rowed to Westminster for the funeral. It was followed by a huge procession of smaller boats, trailing down the river to Woolwich. | License: | http://www.bl.uk/services/copy/permission.html | Publisher: | [Cundy, James] | Rights holder: | British Library | Subjects: | Rivers Water Transport Cartography And Topography Science And Technology Architecture Rowing Boats War And Conflict Rivers and waterways People And Society Barges | Source: | Collect Britain | Creator: | Hill, I | Identifier: | http://www.collectbritain.co.uk/personal... | Language: | en-GB | Go to resource |
