Description: | This is an advertisement for Murray's caramels. Caramels were introduced to Britain from North America in the 1880s and were immediately popular. They were made by slowly boiling milk and sugar. Hundreds of different flavours could be created from the same ingredients depending on the temperature and length of time that they were cooked.
