Description: | The working classes drank their tea not to be fashionable like the more wealthy Victorians but because they needed the nutrients that it provided. Factory workers were given a ‘tea break’ when tea was served which provided not only a time to socialise but the caffeine and sugar in the tea gave them energy to work.
