This engraving of an important Charitable Institution, founded, and constructed at the joint expence of Sir Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy & the East India Company, is respectfully dedicated to Sir Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy, by his obedient servant, W. J. Huggins. (This Building is 400 feet in length & 280 feet in depth).'
Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy (1783-1859) was a Parsi merchant and an eminent philanthropist based in Bombay. The Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy Hospital was built in the 1840s and designed in the gothic style.
