Description: | Archaeology material dates from Pre-history to the late medieval periods and contains many locally found flints and tools, donated in the late 19th century and forming part of the original museum collections. Local items of the Bronze, Iron, Roman and Medieval periods feature to a lesser extent. Another of the museum's original collections comprises a large group of Egyptology of national and international importance, dating the pre-dynastic to Christian eras and acquired mainly through excavations by Sir William Flinders Petrie and donations from the Heape family. | Subjects: | Archaeology | Source: | Cornucopia - Discovering UK Collections | Address: | Arts and Heritage Centre
