Description: | The natural history material is typical of an early museum collection, with many of the specimens collected locally or by early Rochdale collectors around the 19th century. The herbarium collection is one such example, as it forms a unique local archive of the period. There are also mounted bird and mammal specimens found locally and collections of birds' eggs. An early collection of marine shells also forms part of the collection. | Subjects: | Biology | Source: | Cornucopia - Discovering UK Collections | Address: | Arts and Heritage Centre
