Description: | -The social history collections reflect the changes in the social and domestic life of the people of the local area. They include domestic material such as kitchen and washing equipment, children's toys and games, furniture and furnishings, schooling, village shop equipment and packaging,cobbler's tools and equipment and items associated with rural crafts such as thatching, bakery, bee-keeping, farriery, brickmaking, joiner, wheelwright and blacksmithing. ;Agriculture was the principal industry of the area around Ramsey. The collections include barn machinery such as grinders and cake breakers, carts and wagons,harvesting and threshing machinery, and ploughs and seed drills. There is also a collection of Fen drainage tools, and items associated with dairying and animal husbandry.;The museum collection includes originals and copy images of photographs of people, activities and events in Ramsey and local area, mainly 20th century.;The museum has a 'Family History' archive which includes records of monumetal inscriptions, census returns, births, marriages and deaths, maps, documents and land deeds.;There is a small costume collection which includes military unifroms and uniforms from the Ramsey Town Band. ;The collections include the contents and equipment from the pharmacy, chemist and Post Office formerly owned by Mr F.W. Whitwell.
