Description: | The Museum houses an extensive collection of objects covering all aspects of local history. The collection is particularly rich in 19th Century material but the 17th and 18th Centuries are also well represented, including a series of objects associated with the Napoleonic Prisoners of War and Medway Prison Hulks. Medway Council has also recently assumed responsibility for the Gillingham Urban Heritage Collection, which comprises hundreds of social history objects relevant to the history of the Gillingham area in the 20th century.
