Description: | There are two elements to this collection, the Devon folk collections, and everyday social history material ranging in date from the Victorian period to the Second World War.
The Devon folk collection is extremely rich in domestic objects from Devon farmhouses mainly of 17th to 19th century date. The remaining collection is broadly illustrative of life from the mid 19th to mid 20th century and includes costume and costume accessories; numismatics; and domestic objects.
There is also pottery from the local Torquay potteries, of which the St Marychurch Terra-Cotta Company was a leading manufacturer. | Subjects: | Social History | Source: | Cornucopia - Discovering UK Collections | Address: | 529 Babbacombe Road
