Description: | Standing figure of Eddie Thomas as a boxer in fighting stance. Wearing shorts, boots and boxing gloves. Left arm outstretched, right arm flexed against chest. Weight forward on left leg with right leg extended behind. Two relief sculptures of mining scenes at each end of the plinth. The statue is in bronze set on a brown marble base resting on a stone plinth. There are two raised inscription tablets in brown marble on each side of the plinth. Additional Information: Eddie Thomas worked as a miner and gained international fame as a champion boxer.
