Description: | Previously attributed to Daniel Mytens the younger, the painting was reattributed in 2000 to the seventeenth-century British school by Phillip's. Mytens, born at The Hague, came to England during the reign of James I and was court painter to Charles I. Some of his works were mistakenly attributed to Van Dyck, who superseded him as the King's principal painter. | Subjects: | portrait (male) | Source: | Vads | Creator: | Artist: British School Æ Attributed to Previously attributed to Mytens, Daniel, I (Dutch painter, ca.1590-before 1648) | Identifier: | http://www.vads.ac.uk/large.php?uid=8375... | Go to resource |
