Description: | This small likeness by the Italian-born painter Spiridione Gambardella is one of several Cullum portraits bequeathed to the borough of St Edmundsbury by the last surviving member of the Cullum family, George Gery Milner-Gibson Cullum, on his death in 1921. Gambardella emigrated to America in his youth and worked first as a singer before establishing a portrait business in Boston in the 1830s.
