Description: | Signed: yes Description: The Madonna and Child are seated on clouds and surrounded by putti adored by Saints Michael (thrusting his spear into the Devil), Clare (holding a monstrance) and Catherine of Alexandria. This grisaille (monochromatic) oil sketch by the Peruginese artist Scaramuccia may be a preparatory study for a painting of the Madonna and Child with the patron saints of Perugia (1616) in the church of San Lorenzo, Perugia.
