Description: | The central panel of this triptych shows Christ between the two thieves receiving the sponge soaked in vinegar. In the foreground, the Virgin Mary is comforted by Saint John the Evangelist and the Holy Women. Mary Magdalene stands at the foot of the cross, next to a group of mounted soldiers. The gates of Jerusalem and Judas hanging from a tree appear in the landscape background. In the left panel, Christ carries the cross, helped by Simon of Cyrene. The Deposition is represented in the right panel.
