Description: | The Royal Wedding of Lady Diana Spencer and the Prince of Wales took place on 29 July 1981. The ceremony brought London to a standstill as hundreds of thousands of spectators lined the streets hoping to catch a glimpse of the couple.
London Transport found advertising sponsors for its buses, and a number were repainted with advertising that tied in with the wedding.
This R.M-type bus is carrying adverts for J.V.C, a videotape manufacturer. It was pictured in June passing St Paul's Cathedral, where the wedding ceremony was later held. | Format: | image/jpeg | Publisher: | London Transport Museum | Rights holder: | Transport for London | Subjects: | Identity and Icons | Temporal: | 9 Jun 1981 | Source: | London Transport Museum | Identifier: | http://www.20thcenturylondon.org.uk/rser... | Language: | en-GB | Format: | image/jpeg | Go to resource |
