Description: St Catherine, carved wood in high relief. Clothed in the height of contemporary fashion, the saint stands on the back of a prostrate bearded man, who faces right wearing a hat and holding a baton in both hands. St Catherine holds her wheel with her right hand - her left hand is lost. Her hair falls in ringlets from under a crown. Her brow is remarkably high. | Format: | text/html | License: | http://www.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/terms.htm | Publisher: | The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, UK | Rights holder: | The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, UK | Subjects: | sculpture Unknown relief | Temporal: | name=early 16th Century; start=1500; end=1525 | Source: | Fitzwilliam Museum | Creator: | The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, UK | Identifier: | http://www.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/opacdire... | Language: | en-GB | Format: | text/html | Go to resource |
