Description: Polished brown and white banded agate with a matt cameo frieze illustrating scenes from the life of Bacchus, including Jupiter and Mercury presiding at the birth while an attendant nymph leads up a goat for nourishment, and Bacchus as a young man making merry from his chariot drawn by leopards, while maidens dance and satyrs play the pipes and cymbals, all framed above by a wreath of leaves issuing from twin grapevines.
