The Virgin, reclining on her bed, reaches towards the Child in its manger, breathed on by ox and ass. St Joseph sits on the right behind the bed, and in the distance an angel appears to a shepherd with his flock. In the upper spandrels are two censing angels, and in the lower spandrels two angels support the lozenge. | Format: | text/html | License: | http://www.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/terms.htm | Publisher: | The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, UK | Rights holder: | The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, UK | Subjects: | sculpture diptych Unknown | Temporal: | name=14th Century; start=1300; end=1400 | Source: | Fitzwilliam Museum | Creator: | The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, UK | Identifier: | http://www.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/opacdire... | Language: | en-GB | Format: | text/html | Go to resource |
