Production Place: Limoges; Date(s): circa 1550 - 1570; Classification(s): enamels, roundel, enamelling, circular and slightly convex copper plaque, enamelled en grisaille on a black ground, and gilded. The enamel round the edge appears dark brown. Small blobs of white are used to highlight the features.The reverse is faintly scored and has translucent counter-enamel with several dark-brown bubbles, pin-holes, and blackened areas round the edges.
