Description: | Licence granted at the Court Baron of His Grace the Duke of Sutherland, and Walter Peter Giffard Esq., Lords of the Manor of Stowheath, held at Wolverhampton, on 24th February 1870. Present: George Holyoake Esq., Steward.
The Lords of the Manor granted to Thomas Samuel Hawksford Hincks of 'Middle', Salop (a customary tenant of the Manor of Stowheath), a licence to 'dig, get, sell and dispose at his and their Will and Pleasure', all the mines and veins of coal, clay and ironstone under land at Willenhall, called Deminsdale. Thomas Hincks paid the sum of 19-12s-2d for the license. Includes a plan of the land referred to.
