Description: | Surrender and admittance, at the Small Court and Court Baron of the Sir William Pulteney, Baronet, Lord of the Manor of the Prebend of Featherstone, held at Wolverhampton on 9th April 1804. Present: Wiliam Chrees the Younger, Gentleman, deputy steward of the manor; James Hordern and Samuel Stuart, two customary tenants of the manor.
Parties involved:
1. John Evetts of Henwood Hall, Solihull, Warwickshire, Gentleman (Cousin and one of the heirs at law of Sir Samuel Hillier, late of the Woodhouses, Staffordshire, Knight, deceased).
2. William Price of Featherstone, Staffordshire, Farmer.
#1 surrendered into the hands of the Lord, one undivided fourth part share in 3 copyhold messuages, buildings, land and premises with appurtenances in Featherstone, of which Sir Samuel Hillier died seised. #2 came to the court and desired to be admitted tenant to the lands and property. He paid 86 for an alienation fine, and did fealty. |
