Description: | Recovery and surrender at the Court Baron of the Manor of Stow Heath, held at Wolverhampton on 29th June 1813, before the Lords of the Manor - The Most Noble Marquis of the County of Stafford; and Thomas Giffard Esq. Present: Francis Holyoake Esq., Steward; and Thomas Lawrence Foley; John Woodford; and William Hill, customary tenants of the Manor.
Parties involved:
1. Jenny Stokes, wife of Charles Stokes of Catstree, Salop, Gentleman, heretofore Jenny Cox, wife of William Cox, Ironmonger, deceased, and one of the daughters of William White, late of Badger, Salop, Gentleman, deceased.
2. Charles Stokes of Catstree, Worfield, Salop, Gentleman.
3. William Stokes of Catstree, Worfield, Salop.
4. James Marshall of Roughton, Worfield, Salop, Esq.
#1 desired to be admitted tenant to two copyhold messuages in Bilston. #1 and #2 then surrendered into the hands of the Lords two copyhold messuages in Bilston, and all other copyhold messuages which had been devised unto #2 by the Will of William White, on 16th September 1771.
