Description: | A view of a Lorain tram in Darlington Street at the junctions of Victoria Street (left) and North Street (right). On the Victoria Street corner stands Bennion the hosiers. On the opposite corner stands Stobart's the tailors and Hudson's false teeth. To the left of the tailors can be seen a parcel room for the London, North Western & Midland Railway (LNWR). The spire in the distance is that of St. Mark's church in Chapel Ash. Darlington Street was cut through in 1821 and named after Lord Darlington, who later sold the land to the Town Commissioners. | License: | http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/uk/ | Publisher: | Wolverhampton Archives | Rights holder: | Wolverhampton Archives | Subjects: | Photograph Photographs Streets | Temporal: | c. 1900 | Source: | Black Country History | Identifier: | http://www.blackcountryhistory.org/colle... | Go to resource |
