Description: | The medal is circular and gold in colour, with a ring at the top to attach the ribbon. Obverse: Full-length figure of Victory, winged, with her left arm extended and holding a palm branch in her right hand. Reverse: Inscribed "THE GREAT / WAR FOR / CIVILISATION / 1914-1919" in four lines, surrounded by a laurel wreath. The rim is stamped "3315 DVR. H.T. PAGE". The ribbon has a central red stripe flanked by colours of the rainbow and ending at each edge in violet. The Victory Medal was designed by W. McMillan., and was awarded to all eligible personnel who served on the establishment of a unit in an operational theatre. This medal never was issued on its own - only recipients of the 1914 Star or the 1914-15 Star, and/or the British War Medal - received it.
