Description: | The Coronation of King Edward VIII was planned for 12th May 1937, but never took place. Edward VIII reigned between January - December 1936, but abdicated on 10th December 1936 before his Coronation. However, preparations for the Coronation seem to have taken place from at least January 1936, and lots of promotional material survives in the Cannon records. The file contains: promotional material for flags, souvenirs, etc.; correspondence from manufacturers of commemorative material, including Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Ltd., Etruria, Stoke on Trent, who manufactured King Edward VIII Souvenir Coronation Ware such as mugs, plates and jugs; etc. | License: | http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/uk/ | Publisher: | Dudley Archives | Rights holder: | Dudley Archives | Temporal: | Jan 1936-Dec 1936 | Source: | Black Country History | Identifier: | http://www.blackcountryhistory.org/colle... | Go to resource |
