Description: | This serving dish was once the property of Marie Antoinette, who was born in 1755 in Vienna, Austria. She married the crown prince of France in 1770, and became queen in 1774 when her husband was crowned King Louis XVI. The French Revolution erupted in 1789, the king and queen were taken to Paris and imprisoned. On January 21st 1793 Louis was taken to be executed by guillotine, and on 16th October 1793 Marie was taken by open cart to her place of execution.
