Description: | This collection comprises drawings, paintings and prints by members of staff at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design and its predecessor institutions (Dundee Technical College & School of Art / Dundee Institute of Art & Technology / Dundee College of Art). It includes works from the 1930s onwards, often gifted by staff on their retrial. From the 1930s and 40s are an advertising poster by John Greensmith, woodcut prints by Alison and Winifred McKenzie, and a portrait of head of design Alexander Russell by James McIntosh Patrick. An example of Russell's work is also included. Later pieces include work by Jack Knox, James Duff, Ron Stenberg, Neil Dallas Brown, James Morrison, Ian Eadie, Alexander Allan, Ian Fearn, Harvey Duke and Peter Collins. More recent items include the large painting Venus Mourning Adonis by Ronald Forbes, the artists' book Bird of the Devil by Edwards Summerton and a set of etchings by Will Maclean entitled A Night of Islands.
