Description: | Zuccarelli was an Italian landscape painter who spent much of his long working career in England. His bright, decorative style proved highly popular in this country, and he became a founder member of the Royal Academy before retiring to florence with a large fortune in 1773. This watercolour is typical of Zuccarelli's light-hearted romantic scenes, with pastoral figures, cottages and vaguely Italianate buildings set amidst picturesque mountain scenery. | Publisher: | Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums | Temporal: | Production date: unknown | Source: | Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums | Creator: | Francesco Zuccarelli | Identifier: | http://www.twmuseums.org.uk/artonline/se... | Go to resource |
