Description: | This magnificent collection of 107 historic woodwind instruments was exhibited in the Reid Concert Hall Museum of Instruments in 1968 and its move to Edinburgh stimulated plans for re-establishing the Edinburgh University Collection as a collection historic musical instruments of international importance. F. Geoffrey Rendall (1890-1952) was a professional librarian and an amateur clarinettist. His professional career was devoted to the Department of Printed Books at the British Museum culminating in his appointment as Keeper of Printed Books.
