CRE TASSIE, James; (Scottish; 1735-1799) The celebrated Scottish architect, interior designer and property developer ran an architectural practise in London, and formed the distinctive and highly influential "Adam Style". Taking classical Greece and Rome as his inspiration, the elegant lines of Adam's designs were sought after by all those who aspired to cultivated taste in the Georgian era. His work can be seen at Culzean Castle, Register House in Edinburgh and stately homes up and down Britain.
