It has two moving coils at right angles suspended between the field coils one above the other. The moving coils are made of a single loop of copper. The power absorbed in the circuit is directly proportional to the twist in the spring necessary to keep the moveable coil in equilibrium at its zero position.
When the same current passes through two concentric coils placed at right angles to each other, the resulting torque depends on the square of the current.
