I. "Haid exc.a.v." CRE UNKNOWN; (German; 18th century) PUB Haid, Johann Jakob; (German; 1704-1767) AFTER CHARDIN, Jean-Baptiste, Simeon; (French; 1699-1779) LABEL: "Chardin's Lady taking Tea, painted in 1735 and exhibited at the 1739 Salon, is one of the few works not engraved within two years of its creation. It is also rare in being engraved twice. Note how this version, printed in Augsburg, Germany in the 1750s for the popular market differs significantly from Chardin's original image. In fact, print is likely to have been made after Pierre Filloeul's engraving exhibited on show nearby rather than after Chardin's painting."
