"MISS CRANSTONS / SAUCHIEHALL ST / DRAWING OF / CHAIRS FOR / CENTRAL TABLE / LADIES ROOM" DES MACKINTOSH, Charles Rennie; (Scottish; 1868-1928) The Room de Luxe was located on the first floor of The Willow Tea Rooms. It is one of the most precious interiors Mackintosh designed, probably in collaboration with his artist-wife, Margaret Macdonald. The chairs in the design are virtually as executed. The back panel was pierced by a triple willow leaf motif and the rear horizontal support lowered. See GLAHA 52401 and 52815. The tables were by far the most elaborate dining tables designed for Miss Cranston.
